Edward F. Edinger, analist jungian de renume international, a fost psihiatru la Rockland State Hospital din Orangeburg, New York. S-a numarat printre initiatorii C.G. Jung Foundation din Manhattan si ai C.G. Jung Institute of New York, pe care l-a si condus în perioada 1968–1979, apoi s-a mutat la Los Angeles. Acolo si-a continuat cercetarile timp de nouasprezece ani, devenind profesor la C.G. Jung Institute din Los Angeles. De-a lungul anilor a sustinut numeroase conferinte si serii de prelegeri. Printre volumele pe care le-a semnat se numara: The Eternal Drama and Anatomy of the Psyche: Alchemical Symbolism in Psychotherapy; The Science of the Soul: A Jungian Perspective; Ego and Self: The Old Testament Prophets; The Sacred Psyche: A Psychological Approach to the Psalms.
